Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing by utilizing the balance of Chi, or energy, in the body.  This Chi flows through fourteen meridians, or energy channels, throughout the body.  They begin or end on the hands and feet.

The practice of acupuncture is thousands of years old and most believe it started in China, but every country in the East practices acupuncture differently.

In this clinic, we utilize the acupuncture techniques as taught in Europe, China, Korea, Japan, and Southern Asia as well.  Dr. Wendell Utech is certified in Medical Acupuncture, Acupuncture Orthopedics, and Auricular Therapy and has been practicing acupuncture since the 1970's.

Acupuncture Orthopedics is the practice in musculo-skeletal and bone problems.

Auricular Therapy is the practice of using ear points.

We use the latest technology in laser therapy and acupuncture knowledge and new techniques for all types of conditions.  The laser we use is the Erchonia PL-5, a cold laser therapy that is a painless technique.  Laser technology is like computer technology, it started in the l980's and has continually been upgraded.

The conditions we treat range from sports injuries, arthritis, accidents, and surgeries, to any weakness in the body due to infections.  Acupuncture is used to help the body that has a wide variety of symptoms, from headaches, TMJ, neck and back problems, to infections of any part of or the entire body.  Even a serious health problem can be helped by increasing the body energy, thereby the body will work more efficiently while taking other forms of treatment, such as medication, supplementation, diet, or exercise.

Ancient acupuncture used bone needles, and as time progressed, to metal, and then to stainless steel needles.  Now we use sterilized, individually packaged needles.  There is less need for needles because of the laser therapy.  Some cases call for the use of needles because they do not respond well enough to the laser therapy.
